TITLE: Data Solutions Analyst
STATUS: Exempt
REPORTS TO: VP - Operations Planning Governance and Administration
DEPARTMENT: Member Care Admin
JOB CODE: 11399
PAY RANGE: $77,500.00 - $79,000.00 Annually

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Data Solutions Analyst will provide data-driven technical support by serving as liaison to operations processes while working within our data warehouse to ensure exceptional member service. The core function of the analyst will be exploratory data analysis to present custom and visually appealing data-driven insights targeted at efficiency, discernment, and cost avoidance. This role will work on moderately complex, high impact, and high visibility business projects by presenting predictive options as well as prescriptive actions to everyone from front-line associates to senior executives. This position requires aptitude, attention to detail, cross-discipline collaboration, with a skillset focus on knowledge discovery via the data warehouse.
TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS:
1. Demonstrate understanding of data and KPI’s while holding oneself and others accountable to Golden 1 principles of member commitment to service excellence.
2. Understands and utilizes Golden 1 data warehouse model to write, maintain, and deploy custom T-SQL scripts primarily, but not exclusively, via Microsoft SSMS.
3. Conduct exploratory data investigation resulting of the interplay between operational process and source data representation, implementing code changes and quality controls as necessary.
4. Interpret and synthesize ad hoc data requests originated from business partners, teasing out precise verbiage and root cause to provide accurate and tailored quantitative guidance.
5. Develop and curate custom data sets for inspired and poignant Power BI data visualizations that are effective at every level of the organization.
6. Build relationships and think critically about people, process, and technology to identify areas for streamlining and improvement.
7. Embody and promote integrity of the Golden 1 data governance strategy, partner with our IT and Data Warehouse teams to provide research and support at each level of the ETL process.

PHYSICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXERTION UTILIZED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TASK:
1. Effective oral and written communication skills required to assist other staff, constructively follow-up on member inquiries, communicate clearly with management, and perform other related tasks.
2. Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate an on-line computer terminal and other standard office equipment, such as financial calculators, personal computer, facsimile machine and telephone.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTACTS & RELATIONSHIPS:
1. INTERNAL: All business units and departments as needed.
2. EXTERNAL: Federal, state, and local law enforcement, vendors and business partners, and industry peers as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. EDUCATION:
• Bachelor’s degree in related field with a data-centric curriculum preferred (Math, Computer Science, Statistics, etc.)
2. EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 1-5 years of hands-on experience or demonstrable attitude/aptitude/technical equivalent.
3. KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:
• Must pass programming technical assessment of candidate’s choice – most common are SQL, R, or Python though other languages will be considered.
• Must pass Microsoft Excel technical assessment.
• Thrives when multitasking and works best in a dynamic environment with high visibility projects and timelines with varying urgency and ownership deadlines.
• Naturally inquisitive with an innate patience and attention to detail
• Demonstrates reliable and on-time attendance within a hybrid work environment.
• Passion for creating appealing visualizations within the Microsoft suite of products that drive home the results of your analysis.
• Communicates in a clear, concise, and timely manner and operates effectively as a team player.
• Committed to self-directed, on the job technical skill progression with assistance from and within a community of Data Analysts that are all working in a rapidly evolving field.
• Demonstrated understanding of BI concepts and proven success in working with different technology (including new software tools and systems implementations) and able to learn, set up and champion new and best-in-class approaches.
• Experience in building best practices and influencing BI system and data architecture to allow for, build or optimize key data correlations within and across business functions.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required.
2. Corrected vision within the normal range.
3. Hearing within normal range. A device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed.
4. Occasional movements throughout the department daily to interact with staff, accomplish tasks, etc.
