Key Responsibilities

Essential Job Duties:

• The melt controller is responsible for converting raw materials into liquid metal at temperatures exceeding (2800) degrees; responsible for the quality of the metal including chemical and temperatures control.
• The Controller controls the chemistry of the metals. If not correct they need to adjust chemistry into spec
• Responsible for maintaining the furnace including daily patches and repairs and relining the refractory.
• Responsible for maintaining recording pouring temperatures.
• Preparing the pouring ladles for daily use; pouring metal into ladles.
• Ability to take direction from supervisor; understanding temperatures controls; assisting with the cleaning/maintaining furnaces ladles.
• Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner
