Job Description

Our client, a leading provider of water and wastewater infrastructure solutions across Ireland and the UK, is seeking a MEICA Project Manager to join their team in Dundalk. This role leads the Civil, Building, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation scope on a water/wastewater infrastructure project, or series of smaller projects, from design through construction, commissioning and handover. The successful candidate will bring strong project leadership experience and a solid engineering background to support the Contracts Manager in delivering project outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the multi-discipline civil, MEICA and process team to deliver projects on time, on budget and to the highest quality standards, embracing a one-team culture.
  • Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental and Sustainability standards are upheld on site, instilling a positive H&S culture through regular inspections, toolbox talks and white-board meetings.
  • Facilitate the PSDP coordination role for live projects and represent the company as PSCS, ensuring all required documentation is in place and up to date.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders, including clients, client representatives and third-party agencies, ensuring a positive client experience built on collaboration.
  • Apply best-practice project management techniques such as Lean Construction and Last Planner, monitoring project performance, risk and opportunities.
  • Report monthly on project performance against programme, budget and HSQE to the framework manager.
  • Lead procurement of supplies and sub-contracts, and manage project cashflow, working with the Contracts/Commercial Manager to ensure interim payment applications are submitted on time.
  • Build and develop the team through training, mentoring and development plans, taking an active role in resource management and recruitment as hiring manager.
  • Respond to client and stakeholder complaints, gather client satisfaction feedback, and drive continuous improvement through lessons learned and innovative solutions, supported by ongoing CPD.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably within the water and wastewater industry, with a minimum Level 8 Honours Degree in a relevant Engineering qualification.
  • Extensive working knowledge of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013.
  • Experienced in project management of civil and MEICA engineering works, such as concrete works, pipelaying, mechanical system installation and electrical installation packages.
  • Good working knowledge of programme management software such as Microsoft Project, with the ability to prepare baseline programmes and updates.
  • Ability to work under pressure, use own initiative and problem solve to deliver project objectives, including financial negotiations and final account agreements with customers, suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • Strong communication skills, excellent working knowledge of MS Office packages, and a full driving licence.
