Job Description

As a Medium Voltage Components Engineer (m/f/d), you will support the development, validation, and lifecycle management of medium voltage components, with a particular focus on switchgears used in wind turbine applications. You will work closely with engineering, sourcing, production, quality, and service teams to ensure technical compliance, product reliability, and successful implementation throughout the product lifecycle. The role combines product ownership, technical evaluation, testing, and cross-functional collaboration in an international environment.

YOUR TASKS

  • Act as product owner for medium voltage components, especially switchgears, and support their development throughout the complete product lifecycle
  • Define specifications and support the development, prototyping, serial introduction, and continuous improvement of medium voltage components
  • Maintain and manage medium voltage components data and documentation within PDM and PLM systems
  • Analyze applicable standards and technical requirements for medium voltage components and evaluate their impact on product development
  • Calculate technical parameters and support the configuration and parametrization of medium voltage equipment
  • Plan, execute, evaluate, and document component- and turbine-level testing activities for medium voltage systems and switchgears
  • Collaborate with suppliers, service providers, and internal stakeholders to ensure technical alignment and successful project execution

YOUR PROFILE

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, preferably with a specialization in medium-voltage or high-voltage systems
  • Knowledge of medium voltage components and switchgears, ideally gained within power generation, renewable energy, or industrial environments
  • Experience with development, validation, testing, or lifecycle management of electrical components is advantageous
  • Familiarity with PDM, PLM, or ERP systems like Teamcenter and SAP for technical data and product lifecycle management is beneficial
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken; German and/or Spanish are advantageous
  • Structured, proactive, and solution-oriented working style with the ability to collaborate across international teams
  • Willingness to travel to suppliers and test sites for technical activities, approximately 10–20% of working time
