📋 Tasks and responsibilities
To support a growing volume of market-driven changes and to help ensure the smooth release of high-quality solutions into production, we are looking for a tester to reinforce an existing SAT test team working on business-critical applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute sanity and regression testing.
- Design and run tests for new changes and project-related deliveries.
- Handle ad hoc requests from the Problem & Change Analyst in relation to system or process behaviour analysis.
- Log defects correctly in the test tool (MF ALM QC), follow the defect management process, and perform the required quality checks.
- Retest defects after bug fixes are delivered and document test results accurately in the test logging tool.
- Register and follow up incidents in the test environment via the ITSM tool (Topdesk).
- Report to the Test Coordinator; for day-to-day work, collaborate mainly with the test team lead.
- Work with MF ALM QC for defect management and reporting, and with a semi-automated custom test tool based on SOAP UI for message exchange testing.
- Take part in alignment meetings, including daily stand-ups with team members and test coordinators, regular defect follow-up or Scrum meetings with external partners, and ad hoc discussions with stakeholders or market parties.
EXPECTATIONS
- Be able to contribute across different domains, remain open to new challenges, quickly absorb new topics, and share acquired knowledge with the team.
- Maintain a critical view of product quality and learn to challenge delivered solutions, especially when integration with the main branch is involved.
- Build and maintain knowledge of the various domains through a solid learning path.
- Help organise recurring knowledge-sharing sessions on existing and new changes, as well as on testing methodologies and techniques.
- Support knowledge transfer within the team, including backups, onboarding of fellow testers, and sessions for functional analysts to refresh and expand their understanding.
- Act proactively and provide feedback to the Test Coordinator and/or test team lead on progress, issues, risks, and team-related matters.
- Handle defect analysis and follow-up according to priority.
- Work as a team player with an open, honest, and respectful communication style.
- Communicate with vendors and analysts in French, Dutch, or English, depending on the user context.
