Job Description

Animal Referral Hospital Homebush is seeking an experienced, Medicine Veterinary Nurse to join our growing specialist team.

Our Medicine service manages a diverse and challenging caseload, providing advanced diagnostic and therapeutic care across a wide range of complex medical conditions. Supported by two Internal Medicine Specialists and one of the few feline-only Medicine Registrars in Australia, you will work alongside highly experienced clinicians while delivering exceptional nursing care to referral-level patients.

In This Role You Will:

  • Provide advanced patient assessment and monitoring
  • Administer blood products, chemotherapy, and specialised treatments
  • Manage feeding tubes and nutritional support plans
  • Provide nursing support for advanced diagnostic and interventional procedures, including ultrasound, CT, MRI, and endoscopy
  • Coordinate patient care alongside Specialists & Emergency teams
  • Maintain high clinical standards and accurate medical records
  • Contribute to a culture of clinical excellence, collaboration, and teamwork

About You

You are an experienced Veterinary Nurse who is confident in managing complex medical patients and enjoys working within a fast-paced referral environment.

You will bring:

  • Previous Referral Medicine nursing experience
  • Strong patient assessment, monitoring, and clinical reasoning skills
  • Experience managing complex medical patients and advanced nursing treatments
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • A commitment to exceptional patient care and high clinical standards

This role would suit a nurse who enjoys taking ownership of their patients, contributing to case discussions, and working alongside Specialists to deliver exceptional patient outcomes. Applicants must have previous experience working within a Referral Medicine Service.
