Part-time Small Animal Internal Medicine Nurse | Animal Referral Hospital – Essendon Fields, VIC

  • Minimum Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing
  • Part Time, minimum 20 hours a week (days/hours negotiable)
  • No weekends

About Us

The Animal Referral Hospital (ARH) Essendon Fields is a 24 hour-a-day/7 days-a-week hospital with a dedicated team working across ECC, Internal Medicine and Surgery. We aim to provide a responsive and comprehensive specialist and emergency service to veterinarians, their clients and their pets.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Nurse to join our Internal Medicine team, working alongside three Internal Medicine Specialists and four Specialist Nurses. This role offers a dynamic and supportive environment with ongoing training, a comprehensive orientation and opportunities for professional growth.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
  • 3 - 4 years of experience, ideally within a specialist/referral practice
  • A strong interest in Small Animal Internal Medicine
  • Foundational knowledge of medical conditions and diseases
  • Proficiency in anaesthetic monitoring
  • Willingness to assist with chemotherapy administration, CT scans, and MRI procedures (training provided)
  • Excellent animal handling and restraint skills
  • Confidence in client communication, including discussing patient conditions, discussing costs/estimates, and anaesthetic risks
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care
  • Familiarity with RxWorks and Smart Flow (highly regarded, but not essential)
