The Allegheny Health Network (AHN) Medicine Institute is seeking a full-time Transplant Hepatologist to join our nationally recognized Liver Disease and Transplant Program based at Allegheny General Hospital (AGH) and the Federal North Office Building in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This is an exceptional opportunity to become part of a growing, multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering comprehensive care for patients with acute and chronic liver disease, liver transplantation, and advanced hepatobiliary conditions.
The successful candidate will collaborate with a highly experienced team of transplant surgeons, gastroenterologists, advanced practice providers, transplant coordinators, and multidisciplinary specialists while helping to advance AHN's mission of providing innovative, patient-centered care throughout western Pennsylvania and the surrounding region.
Clinical Responsibilities & Opportunities
· Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient management of patients with acute and chronic liver disease.
· Evaluate and manage patients with cirrhosis, portal hypertension, viral hepatitis, autoimmune liver disease, MASLD/MASH, hepatocellular carcinoma, and other complex hepatobiliary disorders.
· Participate in all aspects of liver transplant care, including pre-transplant evaluation, waitlist management, and post-transplant follow-up.
· Collaborate closely with transplant surgery, oncology, radiology, pathology, and critical care teams to deliver coordinated multidisciplinary care.
· Participate in outreach initiatives and help expand access to transplant hepatology services across the AHN network.
· Engage in quality improvement, clinical program development, research, and educational activities.
· Opportunity to teach medical students, residents, and fellows within a major academic and teaching environment.
· Contribute to the continued growth and innovation of AHN's transplant and liver disease programs.

Job Qualifications
· MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
· Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program.
· Completion of an accredited Gastroenterology Fellowship.
· Advanced training in Transplant Hepatology.
· Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology and eligible/certified in Transplant Hepatology.
· Eligible for unrestricted Pennsylvania medical licensure.
· DEA certification and ability to obtain AHN medical staff privileges.
