Saint John’s Program for Real Change mission is to provide a safe space for women and children to heal and develop the skills necessary to transform their lives. We accomplish our mission by holding to our vision to end the generational cycle of trauma and homelessness.
We operate the largest residential program for formerly homeless women and children in the Sacramento region providing services 24 hours/day, 365 days/year, offering shelter, meals, childcare, and comprehensive support services, including Behavioral Health Services, Hands-on Employment Training, Career Education, and Family Services.

Position OverviewTITLE Medication Manager
SALARY From $20.00 To $25.00 Per Hour
CLASSIFICATION Full-Time, Non-Exempt
LOCATION On Site Only – Jackson Rd. Sacramento, CA
SCHEDULE Monday- Friday, 1pm-9:30pm
About the Position…
The Medication Manager is responsible for assisting residents with the self-administration of medications according to physician orders. The Medication Manager is also responsible for the proper storing of medications, maintaining and updating medication documentation, and overseeing the organization and upkeep of the medication room.
You’ll be responsible for…
- Assist residents with the self-administration of medications according to their physician's orders.
- Retrieve, log, and store clients’ incoming prescribed and over the counter medications.
- Prepare all medications for clients going out on a pass.
- Monitor and maintain accurate documentation of clients’ medication adherence.
- Ensure appropriate medication disposal.
- Ensure that the medication room, storage areas, and refrigerators are organized and clean.
- All other duties assigned by supervisor or other management.
General Duties:
- Ability to pay precise attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills required.
- Ability to maintain close communication with all treatment team members.
- Ability to respond to emotionally heightened situations in a calm, trauma-informed, solution-oriented, and professional manner.
- Attend and participate in all training courses as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
- Maintain professional behavior, appropriately representing Saint John’s mission and vision.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with team members.
- Regular, predictable attendance is required.
You must have...
- High School Diploma
- One year of experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Fluent in English language (spoken and written)
- Proficient knowledge of email, copiers, fax, and internet
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
- An incredible passion for our mission
- Required License/ Certifications: First Aid/CPR and TB to be completed after hire
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The physical requirements for performing the essential functions of this position require the employee to be able to:
- Standing/walking approximately 20% and sitting 80% of the time
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to hear and respond to simple and sometimes critical messages exchanged in noisy/high traffic areas.
