The listed pay range or pay rate reflects compensation for a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position. Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time).

ACCOUNTABLE TO: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Registered Nurse (RN), Director of Nursing/Wellness (Wellness Director), Administrator/Director of Assisted Living Program.
Basic Purpose of the Job): The Certified Medication Assistant assists Residents with Medication Administration & treatments under the direction of the RN. The CMA shall also be responsible for providing personal care to Assisted Living Program participants residing in publicly-subsidized housing complexes with agreements with CH ALP. The CMA is delegated the responsibility of administering medications and wound care under the supervision of the RN. The CMA also aids with ADLs, meal preparation, light housekeeping and maintaining the cleanliness and neatness of resident apartments, and residents’ laundry. The CMA may also schedule transportation and medical appointments for residents as needed.
Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or GED
Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate or
Certificate Home Health Aide Certificate
1 year of CNA/CHHA experience
Successful completion of medication
administration training course & statewide
standardized, written competency test. NJ
Medication Aide certification.
AHA Heartsaver CPR AED.
Non-licensed must obtain before end
obtain before end of orientation period.
Excellent customer service skills. Possess a
friendly and caring demeanor.
Has excellent bedside manner.
Training in multiple age populations.
Proficient in Microsoft Word.
Good critical thinking skills. Possess ability to
work under stressful conditions.
Usual Work Day: 8 hours may require travel between assisted
living program locations. Working in the
community with residents who reside in
publicly subsidized housing.
Reporting Relationships
Acts as shift lead ensuring CHHAs, CNAs document in communication book properly, that they are reading communications and following through on communications as needed.
Supervise CHHAs, and CNAs to ensure implementation of resident care plan/service plan.
