Virtual Medical Assistant / Medical Receptionist

GoLean Health is hiring a Virtual Medical Assistant / Medical Receptionist to support a growing U.S.-based neurology practice.

This is a remote, patient-facing role for someone with strong English phone communication, attention to detail, and experience supporting U.S. healthcare clinics. You will help manage patient calls, voicemails, intake details, scheduling preparation, records requests, and basic administrative tracking.

Responsibilities

• Answer patient calls professionally and warmly
• Return voicemails and follow up with patient inquiries
• Maintain accurate call logs and patient intake notes
• Assist with scheduling preparation and appointment coordination
• Request and organize medical records, imaging reports, and referral documents
• Support prior authorization tasks when applicable
• Escalate complex patient, insurance, or clinical concerns appropriately
• Help maintain simple workflows and administrative trackers

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience supporting a U.S.-based medical clinic
• Experience as a Virtual Medical Assistant, Medical Receptionist, Patient Care Coordinator, or similar role
• Excellent English communication skills, especially by phone
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through
• Patient-centered, professional, and reliable
• Comfortable working in a growing or newly launching clinic environment
• Able to work 30 hours/week starting around 8:00 AM CT / 9:00 AM ET
• Stable internet, backup internet, and backup power

Preferred

• Neurology experience
• Experience with Elation EMR
• Experience with CoverMyMeds
• Prior authorization experience
• Medical records or imaging request experience

Pay and Schedule

$6.00 USD/hour
Remote
30 hours/week
U.S. Central Time schedule
