Schedule: Monday to Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Mountain Daylight Time (MDT - Arizona)
Break: 1-hour unpaid lunch break
Schedule Flexibility: Some flexibility may be available depending on business needs.
Compensation: $5.00 – $6.00 USD per hour, depending on experience
About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Virtual Assistant to support a growing Podiatry Clinic in Arizona. This role combines both clinical and administrative responsibilities, making it ideal for someone with a strong medical background who is comfortable working with physician documentation, referrals, and patient coordination.
You'll work closely with a small, collaborative team consisting of one physician, medical assistants, and front desk staff. We are looking for someone who is committed to staying long-term and can become a valuable part of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
Top Priorities
- Review medical transcriptions and finalize physician charts for signature
- Process incoming and outgoing referrals and accurately populate patient charts
- Handle patient confirmation calls, insurance eligibility verification, and sort incoming faxes
Additional Responsibilities
- Clean up and organize clinical notes
- Process and manage referrals efficiently
- Perform outbound and follow-up patient calls
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
- Sort and categorize incoming medical documents and faxes
- Upload and maintain accurate patient records in the EMR
- Send physician orders once documentation has been completed
- Support other administrative and clinical workflows as needed
Requirements
Required
- Previous experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant, Medical Assistant, Medical Scribe, or similar healthcare support role
- Strong understanding of medical documentation and patient charting
- Experience processing referrals and insurance eligibility verification
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate medical records
- Comfortable handling both clinical and administrative tasks
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
Preferred
- Experience in Podiatry (highly preferred)
- Orthopedic or surgical clinic experience will also be considered
- Medical Assistant background preferred
- RN or other healthcare professional background is a plus but not required
- Experience using AdvancedMD EMR
- Experience using Vonage phone system

Basic Requirements
- Must be proficient in speaking and writing English very clearly
- Must have relevant work experience
- Be able to submit an NBI clearance and/or Local Police Clearance background check before onboarding [mandatory]
- Must be available for video meetings with your camera on (when needed)
