Job Description

Position: Medical Virtual Assistant

Number of hours: 40 hrs/week

Schedule: TBD

Tasks required:

  • Patient Communication: Manage inbound and outbound calls, emails, and messages related to patient scheduling, appointment reminders, and follow-ups.

  • Medical Records Management: Assist in the organization, updating, and secure handling of electronic health records (EHR).

  • Administrative Tasks: Handle data entry, maintain appointment calendars, and coordinate patient care between different providers.

  • Clinical Support: Provide assistance in preparing patient charts, collecting and summarizing patient information for physicians, and ability to do proper patient assessment and triage.

  • Billing and Insurance: Support billing processes, insurance verification, and processing claims, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

  • Research and Reporting: Conduct research on medical topics as needed and compile reports for healthcare professionals.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in a clinical or medical administrative role.

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant, Registered Nurse, or similar credential.

  • Knowledge in Medical Cannabis utilization

  • Familiarity with medical coding practices and terminology (e.g., CPT, ICD-10).

  • Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems and medical software.

  • Familiarity with telehealth practices.

  • Knowledge of common office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold HIPAA standards.

  • High degree of organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
