The Medical Unit Receptionist will be supporting The Renal Limb Preservation Unit is a 41-bed specialty unit caring for patients with acute kidney injury, end-stage renal disease, and complex limb preservation needs. Many patients also have diabetes, peripheral artery disease, chronic wounds, or ulcers.

What You'll Do

The Medical Unit Receptionist Performs clerical and receptionist roles to facilitate the efficient operation and maintenance of the patient care area under the supervision of the health care team members.

  • Greet patients and visitors - answering questions and providing comfort
  • Scheduling: Booking, confirming and rescheduling appointments, tests, and procedures
  • Administrative tasks: support in managing patient intake forms, updating records in the system, filing, data entry, ordering supplies
  • Communication expert! Relaying messages between patients and medical staff

What We're Looking For

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Experience: One year experience in healthcare, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required.
  • Additional Skills (preferred): Experience with answering multiple phone lines. Basic computer skills. Excellent customer service behaviors.
