
Medical Technologist – Core Laboratory (Night Shift)
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Medical Technologist to join a high-volume Core Laboratory in Cary, NC. This role supports essential diagnostic testing during overnight hours and plays a critical role in delivering accurate, timely results that directly impact patient care. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, confident working independently, and thrives in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
Location: Cary, NC
Shift Options:
4 x 10-hour shifts: 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM
3 x 12-hour shifts: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Compensation: $28 – $37 per hour (based on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
Perform moderate and high-complexity testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, and Urinalysis
Accurately analyze, verify, and report patient results in accordance with established protocols
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation
Perform and document quality control, calibration, and proficiency testing
Adhere to all CLIA, CAP, and laboratory regulatory requirements
Ensure proper specimen handling, labeling, and workflow prioritization
Collaborate with laboratory leadership and healthcare teams to support efficient operations
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Assist with training and mentoring of laboratory staff as needed
Qualifications:
ASCP or equivalent Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist certification required
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field
Prior Core Lab experience preferred (Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation)
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently during overnight shifts
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality and patient safety
