Job Description

The Medical Technician role is responsible for assisting Physicians and Mid-Level Practitioners with the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients at The Orthopaedic Institute.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Maintains patient flow, the upkeep of pre/post recovery room, and performing basic skills such as vital signs and point of care testing.
• Review patient history
• Screen and consent patients for procedures
• Recover patients post procedure
• Communicate effectively with providers/staff
• Wound care
• Ensure blood borne pathogen, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements and other governmental regulations are adhered to.
• Ensure all safety regulations are adhered to.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS/LICENSE:

CCMA or CNA preferred. CPR certified preferred

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

1-2 years of medical office experience preferred

SKILLS:

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Comfortable working in fast paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficient with computer skills including experience with practice management software desired.

• Fine hand manipulation (keyboarding).
• Travel may be required to existing or new TOI locations.
