We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Nurse Manager to lead our Medical Surgical nursing department. This role is responsible for delivering and directing safe, effective, and patient-centered care using the nursing process. The Nurse Manager oversees clinical and administrative operations, ensures staff competency, fosters a culture of collaboration, and drives quality outcomes aligned with organizational priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily operations and staff within the nursing unit
Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care through assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, and documentation
Serve as a clinical leader and resource to nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams
Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and service excellence
Recruit, orient, supervise, and evaluate staff performance
Develop and maintain department budget, staffing levels, and resource allocation
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and evidence-based practices
Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives
Maintain effective communication with patients, families, staff, and physicians
Actively support employee growth, performance recognition, and disciplinary processes when needed
Participate in community outreach and organizational representation as assigned
Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN preferred)
Current RN license in the state of Wisconsin
Current BLS certification
Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in the department specialty
At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience
Advanced certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) as applicable to department
