The Medical Staff Coordinator is responsible for: Completing the medical/allied health credentialing process; including the processing of all new applications, requests for temporary privileges/initial appointments, and reappointment's. Assisting the Director of Medical Staff Services with medical staff requirements, maintains records and systems that result in efficient program operation. Providing administrative support for the activities of the Medical Staff.
In addition, the CME Coordinator is responsible for managing the Continuing Medical Education Program, which holds commendation status with the Kentucky Medical Association. This includes planning and implementing educational activities that meet the 32 standards for accreditation set by the KMA and ACCME, conducting needs assessments based on data analysis of professional practice gaps, and evaluating the effectiveness of educational programs.
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business or Healthcare related field is preferred.
Previous experience in Healthcare field preferred.

§ Assists Director in ensuring effective communication with members of the Medical Staff.
§ Coordinates and is responsible for Continuing Medical Education programs.
§ Knowledgeable of the latest recommendations from Joint Commission, State Medical Licensure, and other regulatory agencies.
§ Knowledgeable of the hospital’s medical staff by-laws, rules and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.
§ Support recruitment team in pre-vetting candidates.
§ Completes all credentialing requirements and ensures they are carried out; including the processing of all new appointments and re-appointments.
§ Presents all appointments/re-appointments for the Credentials Committee; completing all necessary reports
§ Verifies recommended medical staff attendance at required medical staff meetings.
§ Verifies and updates all expirations of the Medical Staff; including state licenses, DEA, Malpractice Insurance, Board Certifications and other certifications.
§ Audits credentialing by MS specialists holding the standard of compliance departmentally.
§ Maintains Symplr database of approval of privileges.
§ Files incoming and outgoing fax/mail correspondence appropriately.
§ Provides clerical assistance, reports, ordering of supplies, etc.
§ Assists in notification of the medical staff of meetings and changes in policy and procedure, and all other correspondence as required
§ Provides accurate and timely information using discretion and protecting confidentiality of information for all Medical Staff.
§ Contributes to an efficient, cooperative, and pleasant office atmosphere.
§ Receives, greets, and directs guests, providing accurate responses in a friendly and courteous manner.
§ Receives, places and transfers calls using appropriate telephone etiquette, handles all information with respect for confidentiality.
§ Completes other assignments as assigned
