Medical Scribe (Part-Time) - Bilingual Cantonese/Mandarin

Compensation: $20.00 - $23.00 / hour
Astrana Health is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated part-time Bilingual Medical Scribe to support our clinical team at Southern California Heart Center and help deliver exceptional patient care. In this role, you’ll work closely with providers to document patient encounters, update diagnosis codes, manage prescriptions, and follow up on complex cases. When you’re not scribing, you’ll have the opportunity to build your clinical experience by assisting with patient intake, EKGs, and heart monitor placement, as well as gaining exposure to administrative functions such as insurance verification, medical records, and scheduling.

What You'll Do
- Accurately document patient encounters and clinical information for providers
- Update and maintain accurate diagnosis codes and patient records
- Send, verify, and follow up on patient prescriptions as directed
- Monitor complex patient cases and communicate updates to providers as needed
- Assist with patient intake and other clinical support activities
- Perform EKGs and assist with heart monitor placement
- Support providers with additional clinical tasks when not actively scribing
- Assist with insurance verification, medical records preparation, and appointment scheduling
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA requirements
- Provide professional and compassionate support to patients and the clinical team
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Fluent in Cantonese and/or Mandarin strongly preferred
- Proficient understanding of medical terminology, CPT and ICD coding, HIPAA laws/ regulations, human anatomy/physiology
- Strong computer keyboard skills (60+ WPM)
- EMR competence
- Excellent navigation of multitasking, organization, and time management skills
- Possess advanced communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Capable of keeping up in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work in a team
You’ll be great for this role if you have:
- At least one (1) year of scribing knowledge and experience
- Completion of a medical scribe certificate
- Experience with transcription
- Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Environmental Job Requirements and Working Conditions
- This position is onsite at 506 W. Valley Blvd., Unit #100, San Gabriel, CA 91776.
- Schedule: Part-time, minimum 20 hours per week, Monday–Friday between 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Specific schedule to be determined based on department needs.
- The total compensation target pay range for this role is: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour. The salary range represents our national target range for this role.
