Specific Job Requirements
This position reports to the Liver Director, Medical Affairs Japan.
The Medical Scientist (MS) provides scientific and medical guidance across the product life cycle, in close collaboration with Japan Medical Affairs, Global/Asia Medical Affairs, and other key functions. Key responsibilities include:
Establish effective working relationships withliverKOLs and other key external stakeholders and be recognized as an innovative and valuedpartner in improving quality of care forliverdiseasepatients.
Manage regular communication withliverKOLs and clinical trial investigatorstoprovidemedicalguidance andmore extensive background,additionaldata, or answers to questions in response to issues that ariserelativeto commercial, scientific or data needs
Develop and execute medical activities, such as medical education, data generation, patient centric activities in alignment with PlanOfAction (POA) and other strategic priorities in closelycommunicatewith the global MA.
Attend major conferences and coordinate medical affairs activities (ex.KOL meetings andadvisory boardmeeting)
Manage his/her projects to completion,anticipatingobstacles and difficulties that may arise, resolving them in a collaborative manner.
Ensure that all interactions and activities in Japan adhere to corporate compliance guidance/rules and industry code of conduct and responses to unsolicited requests for medical/scientific information
Qualifications: Education and Experience
Essential:
Minimum 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in Japanese and English, withexcellentjudgment and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Hands-on mindset, with effective use of external resources to achieveobjectives
High learning agility.
Preferred:
Advanced degree in life sciences (PhD, PharmD, or MD), with relevant clinical and/or research experience.
Experience in Medical Affairs (e.g., MS/MSL) or R&D within the liver disease area.
Demonstrated leadership in ambiguous or rapidly changing situations.
Project management skills.
