Key Responsibilities
• Scientific Expertise & Engagement with Key External Experts (KEEs)
Maintain deep scientific knowledge in pain management and serve as the primary scientific contact for KEEs in Oncology, Anesthesiology/Pain, Orthopedics, and Neurosurgery within the assigned territory.
Build and maintain strong relationships with KEEs, and HCPs and deliver balanced, accurate, and compliant scientific exchange related to pain management, disease state, treatment paradigms, and approved data for Targin and Norspan.
• Execution and refinement of medical strategy for Targin and Norspan
Implement brand‑level medical strategies aligned with cancer pain and non‑cancer pain priorities in alignment with global and local medical plans.
Support repositioning initiatives through scientific dialogue and actively contribute to brand positioning and medical strategy refinement based on field insights.
Identify and prioritize Key External Experts (KEEs) in the pain management field (cancer and non-cancer pain) within Korea, and develop, maintain, and regularly update KEE mapping.
Drive the execution of tailored engagement plans for identified KEEs, and develop and implement strategic engagement initiatives aligned with Targin and Norspan.
Support the planning and execution of scientific education initiatives and medical events in Korea, including speaker programs, advisory boards, and educational activities, to enhance scientific and clinical understanding of Targin and Norspan.
• Medical insight generation and communication
Collect, document, and communicate high‑quality, actionable insights from field interactions, congresses, and advisory activities and share to Medical Affairs and cross‑functional stakeholders to inform decision‑making.
Proactively identify, analyze, and synthesize scientific insights related to efficacy, safety, key clinical trends, data gaps, unmet medical needs, perception barriers, and competitive landscape.
• Evidence Generation and Data Utilization Support
Support the generation of real-world data and clinical evidence related to the efficacy and safety of Targin and Norspan in the Korean market.
• Cross-functional Collaboration and Compliance Leadership
Collaborate with cross-functional partners in Korea, including Marketing, Commercial/KAM team, Regulatory, and Pharmacovigilance, to support appropriate use and effective execution of strategies for Targin and Norspan while maintaining strict non‑promotional boundaries.
Ensure all activities, materials, and documentation comply with internal SOPs and external regulations.
Preferred Education
A Master’s or PhD degree in a scientific field
Licensed healthcare professionals (e.g., MD, PharmD, and Pharmacists)
Experience
More than 5 years of experience in a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) role within a multinational pharmaceutical industry.
Experience in pain management, oncology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, or specialty care area
Experience in a highly regulated therapy area (e.g., opioids, controlled substances)
Familiarity with advisory boards and medical education activities
Knowledge and Skills
Business-level proficiency in English
Strong scientific expertise and ability to interpret clinical data
Excellent communication, presentation, and KEE engagement skills
Ability to generate and translate medical insights into strategy
Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
Strong understanding of compliance and non-promotional engagement principles
