About the Role

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL), Great Lakes serves as a scientific and clinical expert for Company's Epilepsy and Rare Syndromes portfolio. This field-based role develops and maintains relationships with key healthcare stakeholders, facilitates scientific exchange, generates medical insights, and supports initiatives that improve patient care and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain expertise in epilepsy and rare syndromes, including emerging clinical data, treatment guidelines, and competitive developments.
  • Build and manage trusted relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare providers, investigators, health systems, payers, and patient advocacy organizations.
  • Deliver balanced scientific and clinical information through educational discussions, presentations, and responses to medical inquiries.
  • Gather and communicate actionable field insights to inform Medical Affairs strategies and scientific communications.
  • Support research collaborations, including Investigator-Initiated Studies (IIS), from feasibility assessment through publication.
  • Represent Company at scientific congresses, advisory boards, investigator meetings, and educational programs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Real-World Evidence, Market Access, and Commercial partners.

Qualifications

Required

  • Doctoral degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, DO, or DPM).
  • Minimum of 2 years of Medical Affairs experience within the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Residence within the assigned territory.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel 60-80% within the region.
  • Experience in neurology, epilepsy, rare diseases, or related therapeutic areas.

Preferred

  • Prior product launch experience.
  • Knowledge of clinical research, clinical trials, and health economics.
  • Strong scientific communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and Microsoft Office skills.
