Medical Science Liaison – CVRM (South)

Field-Based | Belgium

As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL), you will be a trusted scientific expert in the field, building strong, non-promotional partnerships with healthcare professionals and Key External Experts (KEEs).

You will play a critical role in advancing clinical practice, identifying unmet medical needs, and bringing valuable insights back to the business to shape strategy and improve patient outcomes.

This is a highly collaborative, field-based role (≈80%), working closely with cross-functional teams while maintaining medical independence and scientific integrity.

Key Responsibilities

Scientific Engagement & Insight Generation

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with healthcare professionals and KEEs

  • Deliver high-quality scientific exchange aligned with CVRM strategy

  • Gather and share insights to inform medical and brand strategies

  • Stay up to date with the latest scientific developments and congress learnings

Driving Medical Impact

  • Support clinical studies and medical projects from initiation to follow-up

  • Contribute to pre-launch activities and market access readiness

  • Partner with experts to optimise patient pathways and standards of care

  • Lead and moderate scientific meetings and advisory boards

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Share insights with medical, marketing, and sales teams

  • Educate internal stakeholders on disease areas and therapies

  • Support clinical operations (e.g. site selection)

  • Collaborate across teams while maintaining medical compliance

Scientific Communication & Excellence

  • Deliver impactful, compliant scientific presentations

  • Respond to medical information requests

  • Support omnichannel medical communication initiatives

  • Represent AstraZeneca at national and international congresses

What You Bring

Education & Experience

  • Medical, Pharmacy, or PhD-level scientific degree

  • Strong experience analysing and communicating scientific data

  • Knowledge of (or strong interest in) CVRM therapeutic area

  • Fluent in French and English. Dutch is preferred.

  • Willingness for field-based work and flexibility (including events)

  • Strong scientific credibility and ethical mindset

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders

  • Business acumen and strategic thinking

  • High level of compliance awareness

  • Self awareness and eagerness to learn

Nice to Have

  • Experience in pharma medical affairs or MSL role

  • Experience moderating scientific discussions or advisory boards

  • Understanding of Belgian healthcare system
