Job Description

Responsible for driving country medical activities in alignment with regional initiatives and the Global Medical Plan, proactively manage medical scientific stakeholders and create value for patients through medical and scientific stakeholder engagement, medical scientific projects and scientific communications.

Key Responsibilities

As a key member of the medical team, you will play an important role in shaping and delivering our country medical strategy. You will build trusted scientific partnerships, bring valuable local insights to regional and global teams, and help ensure that patients benefit from the latest medical and scientific advances.

You will:

• Build meaningful scientific partnerships by identifying, developing and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with KOLs, scientific experts and other medical scientific stakeholders.
• Bring science to life by compiling, analysing, preparing and delivering high-quality medical, pharmaceutical and scientific communications in line with defined communication plans.
• Drive impactful stakeholder engagement through the creation and execution of stakeholder engagement plans, in line with Sobi’s high standards.
• Shape local medical strategy by supporting the country “Global Brand” team in developing local medical tactics and providing relevant insights and input to HQ and regional plans.
• Create opportunities for scientific exchange by organising and setting up scientific advisory boards with the right stakeholders, in collaboration with the Medical Advisor or Senior Medical Advisor (MA/SMA).
• Contribute your expertise across the organisation by supporting medical and scientific activities at both local and regional level and sharing valuable country insights with colleagues.
• Support business development by providing local and regional medical and scientific input during Business Development Due Diligence activities.
• Help prepare for successful launches by delivering local medical insights and inputs to head office-led medical programmes ahead of launch.
• Support clinical research by coordinating Investigator Sponsored Studies (ISSs), where appropriate, and supporting studies at local level.
• Help ensure access to trusted medical information by coordinating medical information enquiries in collaboration with the MA/SMA and HQ in Stockholm.
• Be an active ambassador for Sobi by attending relevant local, regional and global congresses and symposia, engaging with scientific stakeholders and representing Sobi with professionalism and credibility.
• Bring the medical perspective to important conversations by representing scientific interests in internal and external forums and engaging with KOLs at hospitals and other non-governmental organisations within the therapeutic area.
• Strengthen our scientific network by developing strong relationships with scientific societies and central decision makers.
• Provide trusted medical guidance to the organisation and management on medical matters, including relevant legal and compliance considerations.
• Stay at the forefront of science by continuously developing your knowledge of the therapeutic area and keeping up to date with emerging trends, new evidence and developments relating to both existing and future products.

Qualifications

We’re looking for a scientifically strong, curious and collaborative professional who can build trusted relationships, translate complex science into meaningful conversations, and make an impact in a dynamic, highly regulated environment.

You will bring:

• An accredited doctorate degree in a life-science or basic-science discipline (Pharm.D., D.Sc., D.N.P., Ph.D. or M.D./D.O.). Candidates with an advanced health degree combined with extensive industry or clinical experience will also be considered.
• A minimum of 1 year of Medical Science Liaison (MSL) experience.
• The ability to understand, interpret and communicate scientific information effectively, responding confidently to questions and addressing the needs of key medical and scientific stakeholders.
• Demonstrated success in building and managing internal and external stakeholder relationships and leading or influencing cross-functional teams within a matrixed environment.
• A strong track record of strategic thinking, problem-solving and sound decision-making.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to shape and articulate a clear strategy and compelling scientific story.
• Strong organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities effectively.
• A proven ability to initiate, develop and maintain meaningful relationships across the medical and scientific community.
• A collaborative mindset and demonstrated ability to build positive, constructive relationships with cross-functional colleagues.
• A high level of personal integrity, emotional intelligence and flexibility, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and environments.
• Experience in relevant clinical practice is an advantage.
• A good understanding of the highly regulated biopharmaceutical environment.
• A basic understanding of the legal and regulatory landscape relevant to the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry.
