Position Summary
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in Aesthetics serves as a field-based scientific expert and a critical link between Galderma and the aesthetic healthcare community.
This role ensures that all external scientific exchange, education, and clinical insights related to injectable aesthetic products—including hyaluronic acid fillers, biostimulators (e.g., Sculptra), and neuromodulators (e.g., Dysport)—are grounded in robust evidence and delivered with scientific and ethical integrity.
The MSL is essential to advancing Galderma’s vision of regenerative aesthetics, empowering healthcare professionals through science-based dialogue, and ensuring that clinical and scientific excellence underpin every interaction.
Essential Functions
- Scientific Expertise and External Engagement
- Acts as the primary scientific contact for aesthetic injectors (physicians, nurses, and other licensed HCPs) within the assigned territory.
- Provides evidence-based, balanced scientific exchange on product mechanisms, clinical data, safety, and best practices.
- Builds and nurtures peer-to-peer relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), clinical trainers, and emerging thought leaders, reinforcing Galderma’s reputation as a trusted scientific partner.
- Insight Generation and Market Intelligence
- Captures field medical insights on clinical trends, patient outcomes, educational needs, and competitive developments.
- Synthesizes insights into actionable intelligence that informs Medical Affairs strategy, content development, and global alignment.
- Identifies gaps in evidence or understanding and collaborates with the broader medical team to address them through education or data generation.
- Education and Scientific Exchange
- Delivers scientific presentations and educational sessions to HCPs, focusing on product science, injection techniques, and emerging data in aesthetic medicine.
- Supports speaker training, faculty development, and scientific symposia in partnership with the Medical Advisor/Lead and Global Medical Affairs.
- Elevates clinical excellence by promoting science-based decision-making and safe, effective injection practices.
- Support for Clinical and Real-World Evidence Initiatives
- Identifies and supports investigator-initiated trials (IITs) and real-world evidence (RWE) studies related to injectables and regenerative science.
- Connects investigators with internal medical teams, ensuring alignment with Galderma’s research priorities and compliance standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration and Launch Support
- Works closely with Sales, Marketing, and Training to ensure scientific alignment across all aesthetic initiatives.
- Supports new product launches and scientific narratives through education, KOL engagement, and real-world insight gathering.
- Ensures all interactions and materials reflect scientific rigor, compliance, and global-to-local consistency.
- Compliance and Medical Governance
- Conducts all interactions in compliance with Health Canada, and Galderma’s internal medical policies.
- Maintains accurate, compliant documentation of activities and insights through CRM systems.
- Serves as a role model for ethical, non-promotional scientific engagement in the field.

- Demonstrate agility and adaptability in acquiring new technologies and integrating evolving business processes.
- Perform other related responsibilities, as assigned, to support departmental and organizational objectives.
Minimum Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Medical, Pharmacy, Nursing or higher degree qualification (e.g. MSc, PhD) in life sciences field
- Dermatology/Aesthetics experience (essential)
- 2 years experience related to medical pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical devices industry
- Demonstrated experience of developing and presenting scientific/medical content at a variety of levels and different audiences
- Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and work effectively in a constantly changing environment.
- Ability to develop good relationships and credibility with medical professionals
The annual salary range for the role is: $112,000-$140,000 CAD.
