Job Description

Are you a trusted scientific voice ready to shape how the medical community understands and applies groundbreaking therapies? Do you want your expertise to translate directly into better outcomes for people living with serious chronic diseases? If so, this could be your next move.

Your new role

As a Medical Science Liaison, you will be the scientific face of Novo Nordisk in your territory – building peer-to-peer relationships with leading healthcare professionals, generating real-world insights, and ensuring our science reaches the clinicians who need it most. You will operate at the intersection of medical affairs, research and commercial strategy, influencing how our portfolio is understood and adopted.

Day-to-day your tasks will include:

- Building and maintaining strong scientific partnerships with key opinion leaders, investigators and healthcare institutions across your therapy area

- Communicating complex clinical and scientific data with clarity, credibility and integrity in both 1:1 and group settings

- Gathering medical insights from the field and feeding them back to shape strategy, evidence generation plans and portfolio decisions

- Supporting investigator-initiated studies, advisory boards, congresses and medical education activities

- Partnering cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Market Access and Commercial colleagues to align on scientific priorities

- Acting as a mentor and scientific resource to less experienced MSL colleagues, sharing best practice and elevating team capability

- Staying ahead of the evolving scientific and competitive landscape in obesity, diabetes and/or other relevant therapy areas

Your new department

The Medical Affairs team plays a pivotal role in bringing scientific rigour to every stage of the product lifecycle. You will join a group of experienced, curious and highly collaborative professionals who take pride in being the trusted scientific bridge between Novo Nordisk and the external medical community – shaping evidence, dialogue and patient outcomes together.

Your skills & qualifications

We are looking for an experienced scientific communicator who thrives on building relationships and turning data into meaningful clinical conversations. To succeed in this role, you will bring:

- An advanced scientific or clinical degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, or MSc in Life Sciences) with strong knowledge of the relevant therapy area (e.g. obesity, diabetes, cardiometabolic or rare disease)

- Several years' experience as a Medical Science Liaison or in a comparable field-based medical role within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry

- Proven ability to engage credibly with senior KOLs and translate complex science into clinically relevant insights

- Strong stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration and project management skills

- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly, including occasional extended hours and weekends.

- Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
