OIW/Surgery Partners is looking for a new Medical Records/Chart Prep Lead to help with our growing needs as a company!
As the lead of the Medical Records/Chart prep team the employee will ensure the two teams work cohesively to facilitate the proper operational needs for the company. The lead will help with project management, training, and coverage. The lead will work with the Director of Clinical Operations to help with any new procedures, programs, or projects that are assigned to the teams. In addition to being a lead the employee will also be a working member of the Medical Records team.
The Medical Records Clerk is accountable for working with the provider teams they support to ensure all forms are accurate and all required insurance information is in place. This is critical for billing. They may also assist in gathering test results and reports and scanning them into the patient record in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). The Medical Records Clerk also assists other clinical and administrative staff with obtaining or organizing data to be used for other record-related tasks. Teamwork, organization, initiative and self-motivation are crucial in this position. This role is vital to a comprehensive and efficient patient visit and supporting the business of OIW|SP; and as such, is an integral part of the administrative team.
To support the providers in providing patients with a positive visit, the Medical Records Clerk must be detail oriented; making sure that all forms and insurance information they provide to the clinic team have the specific data included that is requested. They are expected to interact with the clinic staff in a friendly and professional manner when they are asked to research a missing report or to download additional information. They must communicate effectively with clinical staff when a report or other information is not available in a timely fashion.
The Medical Records Clerk will be professional in their interactions with the patients; exhibiting an ability to ask the necessary questions in a manner that is both warm and efficient and will enable the effective and efficient flow of the clinic schedule.
