MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST - WHITE CROSS WHANGAREI

Are you at your best when you’re helping people, juggling tasks, and keeping everything moving with a smile? Do you enjoy being the friendly face that helps patients feel looked after when they need it most?

White Cross Whangārei is looking for a part‑time Medical Receptionist (28 hours per week) to join our urgent care team. You’ll enjoy variety, meaningful work, and evening and weekend shifts that keep no two days the same.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Front desk & patient support: Welcoming patients, answering phones, booking appointments, and keeping patient flow running smoothly during busy clinic hours.
  • Waiting room care: Keeping patients informed, checking in on those waiting, and helping create a calm, well‑managed environment, even when things get busy.
  • Payments & admin: Processing payments, invoices, and claims, completing enrolments, and keeping records accurate and up to date.
  • Privacy & safety: Handling patient information with care and following clinic privacy, security, and health & safety procedures at all times.

ABOUT YOU:

You don’t need to tick every box, but you’ll likely bring:

  • Respectful, culturally aware, and comfortable supporting people from all walks of life
  • Experience in medical reception, administration, or a fast‑paced customer service role
  • Confidence juggling phones, people, payments, and systems
  • Strong communication skills and a calm, friendly manner
  • Comfort working evenings and weekends (essential)
  • Good computer skills and accuracy with cash and payments
  • The ability to stay grounded when things get busy
  • Legal right to work in New Zealand (essential)
  • NZ driver’s licence (nice to have)
