Job Description

We have an opportunity for an Experienced Medical Receptionist to join our team at Cranebrook Doctors

We require an individual who is highly motivated, enthusiastic with a "can do" attitude towards all tasks, ability to work autonomously at a fast pace as well as in a team. This will be a growing practice so a cheerful personality is a must as well as is the ability to think on your feet!

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Open and Close clinic as per set procedure
  • Greet patients and other callers in a professional and courteous manner
  • Make appointments for patients
  • Ensure medical records are managed confidentially and efficiently
  • Accurately process patient payments via cash, Eftpos, and direct bill transaction.
  • Invoice Medicare, Private Health Funds, TAC, Workcover.
  • Knowledge of the MBS schedule and correct billing procedures
  • Deal with referring doctors, hospital staff, pharmacists etc courteously and helpfully
  • Attend to patient enquiries
  • Check and handle internal emails.
  • Fill in the roster when staff is away, on holidays and sick leave.
  • Maintain the reception waiting area and consulting rooms tidy including the clean up of spills if necessary.
  • Ensure the accurate storage and retrieval of patient and practice records with appropriate scanning, faxing and filing of all documents.
  • At all times maintain confidentiality of patient personal and financial information.
  • Complete recalls.
  • Support the day to day operations of the medical centre.
  • Exceptional customer service and teamwork skills.
  • High level of computer literacy and IT knowledge.
  • Experience using Best Practice is desirable.

In addition, the candidate must also provide the following;

  • Current Police Check
  • Current Working with Children clearance
  • Current First Aid/CPR certificate
  • Immunization Record
  • Driving License/ Photo ID

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team
  • Experience with Medical software (BEST PRACTICE/MEDICAL DIRECTOR)
  • Demonstrated strong organizational and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment, including multitasking
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality patient service
