The Position

Join a leading global healthcare organization as our Medical Partner to drive the medical agenda for Ophthalmology and Oncology therapeutic areas, where your expertise will directly influence patient care and shape the future of medicine. You will serve as the medical strategic leader, responsible for overseeing local medical activities, supporting product launches, driving scientific engagement, and ensuring compliance with both local and international regulations.

The Medical Partner is a therapeutic/disease area expert who supports teams in relevant areas, ensuring medical decisions remain independent from promotional objectives. They fluidly join therapeutic area teams as needed.

The Medical Partner works within teams to understand patient needs and ecosystem requirements, deriving insights to inform strategy. They enable national-level activities that benefit the medical community and improve clinical practice.

The Medical Partner develops expertise across multiple molecules or indications, driving evidence generation and scientific exchange. They enhance collaboration within the network, locally and internationally, focusing on high-value activities that impact the patient journey.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Lead the medical part of the integrated strategy, shape a scientifically sound and differentiated value story across key disease areas

  • Systematically collect, analyze, and translate external scientific and clinical practice insights (including patient perspectives) into strategic actionable and differentiating recommendations for the local teams

  • Provide medical expertise and customer insights to the local teams, shape medical practice and drive the adoption of medical innovations

  • Provide expert opinion on scientific medical information to execute our product strategies, while holding high ethical standards, compliance to Roche SOPs and local/international regulations.

  • Identify and develop scientific relationships with external experts who are qualified sources of insight and advice.

  • Proactive customer engagement; build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, and academic institutions.

  • Plan and execute relevant scientific expert meetings and advisory boards.

  • Provide medical expertise in development of reimbursement dossiers.

  • Implement compassionate use programs according to local situations.

  • Manage of Medical Information enquiries

  • Oversee medical training and education initiatives.

Who You Are

  • Medical Degree (MD) or advanced degree in life sciences (PharmD, life science PhD,) with strong clinical/scientific background.

  • Professional experience in medical affairs or clinical development within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.

  • Understanding of clinical trial design, interpretation and biostatistics. Established knowledge base / skill set in data generation (clinical trials, IIS, RWE programs).

  • Customer focus - prioritizes the needs of patients and customers (HCPs/TAEs), ensuring all actions drive value and satisfaction.

  • Excellent ability to articulate complex medical and scientific context, inform medical guidelines by contextualizing our data, build trust

  • Basic level of AI literacy and learner mindset that proactively integrates digital tools in day-to-day work

  • Collaborates effectively, showing leadership, self-motivation and accountability as part of a multi-skilled team (squad)

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong knowledge of local regulatory and compliance requirements.

  • Fluent in Estonian and English (spoken and written).
