About the role:

We are seeking a motivated and clinically focused Medical Officer to become part of our dynamic multidisciplinary team at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Brisbane. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative environment that values professional growth, clinical excellence, and patient-centred care.

This is a maximum term part-time role through to December 2026, with the possibility of an extension to this contract into the New Year. You will be required to work 9.30 – 7pm Monday and Tuesday and 9.30am – 4pm Wednesday to Friday, this role requires NO weekend, on-call or public holiday coverage.

Key duties of the role include:

  • Provision of comprehensive clinical care for our medical and IAC patients to ensure, safe and high-quality patient centred care

  • Facilitation of admission of patients, which includes assessment and care planning

  • Completion of daily task including medication charting, patient reviews and collaboratively working with our multidisciplinary team to optimise patient outcomes.

Things that work for us:

  • Minimum 2 years postgrad experience in general medicine, geriatrics and/or rehabilitation

  • Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice, education, research and quality improvement activities

  • Ability to provide clinical practice and care consistent with the mission and philosophy of the facility Willingness to participate in and support education activities and to contribute to the development of self and other team members

  • Ability to contribute towards effective risk management within the facility particularly in compliance with Work Health & Safety legislation

  • Demonstrated application of contemporary infection control standards and practices

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville.
