About the role

The role of the Medical Officer at True encompasses providing specialised medical care, education, and training in reproductive and sexual health while adhering to clinical guidelines and organisational policies. This role involves working collaboratively with nursing staff to meet client needs, offering medical leadership, and supporting the implementation of clinical standards and protocols. Additionally, the Medical Officer is responsible for ensuring the effective and timely operation of clinics, contributing to service development and management, and engaging in professional development, research projects, and quality activities. They also participate in delivering training for health professionals and maintain their own clinical skills and professional growth.

- Work collaboratively with nursing staff to meet client needs and provide medical leadership as required.

- Ensure clinics are conducted effectively and timely, participate in professional development, research projects, and training delivery.

- Provide clinical services in sexual and reproductive health, maintain professional development, and support training for health professionals.

- Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency registration (Medical Practitioner).

- Eligibility to obtain VR Medicare provider number for clinic location (ie fellow of the RACGP).

- FPAA Medical Practitioner certificate or equivalent.  

Selection Criteria

- Current registration with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (Medical Practitioner).

- Eligible to obtain VR Medicare provider number for clinic location.

- FPAA Medical Practitioner certificate or equivalent.

- Demonstrated experience expertise and experience in Sexual and Reproductive Health

- Awareness of key issues in supporting an effective and safe working environment including employment equity, antidiscrimination, occupational health and safety and ethical behaviour.
