
Primary Purpose: Join the Pediatric Infectious Disease team and help to ensure the delivery of health care to the children of Saskatchewan. Duties will include general medical office work, including scheduling, billing, preparing and managing documents, accessing and managing information in the electronic medical record, and helping to ensure the smooth functioning of the Division. Education: Completion of Grade 12 and a medical secretarial diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution. Current medical terminology and transcription training are required.
Nature of Work: The position reports to the Finance and Administration Manager and the Infectious Disease Division within the Department of Pediatrics. The work is collaborative and involves interacting with members of other Divisions and the wider Department, with external partners and with the family members of patients. The Department seeks to continue a cooperative, positive work environment.
Typical Duties or Accountabilities: Use of existing electronic medical record systems (MedAccess/SCM); scheduling appointments, medical tests, and clinic days; transcribing dictation, preparing and managing clinical and general correspondence; telephone and office reception; filing, billing, and processing mail; and performing other clerical duties as assigned.
Experience: Two to five years of clinical secretarial experience is required. Experience in a fast-paced, complex setting is preferred.
