Work You’ll Do
The MARFORPAC G-35 Future Operations Planner – Fires and Effects serves as a senior planner and key organizational advisor for theater-level fires and effects coordination within the Marine Forces Pacific (MARFORPAC) Future Operations Branch. This role supports joint and combined force operations, strategy development, and operational planning to optimize fires and effects capabilities across the Indo-Pacific theater. The Planner will be an enabler for the coordination, certification, and employment of the MARFORPAC Force Fires and Effects Cell (FFEC), ensuring maximum readiness and integration with the Theater Joint Force Maritime Component Command (TJFMCC) during both crisis and steady-state operations.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Tasks
• Apply a demonstrated understanding of US Fires and Effects Security Agreements, policies, and strategies from USINDOPACOM, HQMC, and PACFLT.
• Integrate joint warfighting concepts and command relationships into daily planning and assessment.
• Execute both joint and Marine Corps planning processes for operational plans and strategy.
• Build visual and written briefings, leveraging Microsoft Office and relevant planning software.
• Identify and solve complex military problems involving fires and effects; present solution recommendations to decision makers.
• Participate in and support operational planning teams, working groups, boards, and integrated planning teams.
• Attend daily briefs and contribute to decision cycles.
Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual Tasks
• Participate in synchronization meetings, working groups, and update briefs with MARFORPAC, PACFLT, USINDOPACOM, and other service components.
• Support campaign and joint validation boards, as well as all-domain planning efforts.
• Contribute to command and campaign-level assessments on fires and effects.
• Complete annual training and assessments, supporting exercises and wargaming.
• Write operational planning orders, warning orders, execution orders, after-action reports, and meeting minutes.
• Schedule, deliver, and review in-progress events and planning conferences.
• Support operational plans (OPLANs), contingency plans (CONPLANs), and specialized assessments for modernization and autonomous systems integration.

Qualifications
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Military Studies, International Relations, National Security, Strategic Studies, Operations Management, Public Administration, Emergency Management or related field
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
• Active TS/SCI security clearance required
• 5+ years of relevant experience in operations planning, military planning, readiness planning, contingency planning, or strategic/operational analysis
• Demonstrated experience supporting operational planning cycles, mission readiness activities, or force employment planning.
• Working knowledge of military planning processes, joint planning concepts, and operational-level decision support.
• Experience coordinating across diverse stakeholders and translating strategic objectives into executable plans.
• Strong analytical writing, briefing, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple planning efforts in dynamic, high-tempo environments.
Preferred:
• Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Strategic Studies, Defense Analysis, Security Studies, Business Administration, Public Policy, or Operations Research.
• Advanced Operational Planning Schools i.e. JAWS, SAMS, MAWS, JCWS, JPME.
• Senior PME such as CGSC, ILE, USMC CSC, MAGTF, NCSC, War College.
• Professional Certificates i.e. PMP CMP.
• Prior relevant Military MOS experience such as USMC 0302, 0502, 0511
• Background working within or alongside USINDOPACOM, MARFORPAC, HQMC, a combatant command staff, a Service component staff, or a MEF headquarters.
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Hawaii, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to Hawaii and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $102,750 to $171,250.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
