This is an Scientist position within Pathlab Bay of Plenty's Histology service, contributing directly to the preparation and delivery of high‑quality histological specimens for diagnostic assessment.
As a Histology Scientist, you will be involved in routine histology workflows, including specimen accessioning, specimen transfer, specimen processing, embedding, microtomy, staining, and quality control, working in accordance with established laboratory procedures and quality standards. You will be part of a skilled and supportive team where consistency, accuracy, and shared responsibility are genuinely valued.
This is a role well suited to those who enjoy routine diagnostic work and value predictability, balance, and professional autonomy. The Waikato Histology department is a practical diagnostic service where the emphasis is on doing core histology well, without the demands of highly specialised testing.
