Job Description

Lakeview Hospital is hiring for a Medical Laboratory Scientist Lead to help support point of care testing, Urinalysis, Kit testing, and Micro PXR testing.

Position Summary:

The Lead Medical Lab Scientist is responsible for performing and analyzing complex medical laboratory tests and procedures which require the exercise of independent judgment with minimal supervision. This position is also responsible to perform ongoing departmental management and support (which involves regulatory readiness) in one or more laboratory departments.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday
  • 6:30am to 3:00pm
  • Every 4th weekend

Required Qualifications:

Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field

Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:

  • Current certification as Medical Technologist (MT), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by the National Board of Registry, American Society Clinical Pathology (ASCP). If not present at hire, must have within one year of start date.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and meet all criteria required under Lakeview’s Automobile Liability Guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • At least 2 years laboratory experience
  • Knowledge and skills sufficient to provide technical instructions and communicate and advise other departments on clinical laboratory procedures.
