Applicants must be fluent in both English and Spanish and have experience providing medical interpretation in a healthcare setting.
As a Medical Interpreter, you play a vital role in ensuring patients and families receive the compassionate, equitable care they deserve. Every day, you serve as a trusted communication bridge between healthcare providers and limited English proficient (LEP) patients and families, helping them understand diagnoses, treatment plans, procedures, and important healthcare decisions.
In this fast-paced hospital environment, you'll work alongside physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary care teams to facilitate accurate and culturally sensitive interpretation while supporting positive patient experiences. Whether assisting during routine appointments, emergency situations, family meetings, or discharge planning, you help patients feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout their care journey.
Success in this role requires exceptional consecutive and simultaneous interpreting proficiency as well as medical terminology knowledge, professionalism, empathy, and a commitment to accuracy. You will also provide translation of written medical materials and ensure all communication meets healthcare interpreting standards, patient privacy regulations, and organizational expectations.
Every interaction is an opportunity to strengthen trust, reduce barriers to care, and make a meaningful difference for patients and families.
