About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Medical Imaging Assistant to join our friendly and professional team at Apex Radiology Claremont.

Working alongside our Radiologists, Radiographers and wider clinical team, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of medical imaging procedures and ensuring our patients receive a high standard of care throughout their visit.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with previous healthcare experience who is organised, compassionate and confident working within a busy multidisciplinary environment.

Your Responsibilities

As a Medical Imaging Assistant, you will:

• Assist Radiologists, Radiographers and other health professionals with procedures across CT/US and other areas of the department
• Support the patient consent process and help ensure patients are appropriately prepared for procedures
• Perform patient cannulation as required – full training provided
• Assist with biopsy and other interventional procedures, including the handling of pathology specimens
• Provide support and reassurance to patients before, during and after procedures
• Assist with clerical duties, record keeping, accounts and maintenance of patient files when required
• Prepare clinical and procedure areas and ensure equipment and supplies are readily available
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, infection control and general health and safety throughout the department
• Work collaboratively with the wider clinical and administration teams to support the smooth running of the clinic

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:

• Previous healthcare experience – essential
• A Certificate in Assistant in Nursing (AIN) or similar qualification would be highly regarded
• Experience with or confidence undertaking cannulation
• A genuine commitment to providing a high standard of patient care
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to put patients at ease
• Excellent organisation and time-management skills
• The ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively in a busy clinical environment
• A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• A professional, reliable and compassionate approach to your work
