About the role
Make a real impact in paediatric healthcare. Working alongside the Royal Children’s Hospital ED as a General Practitioner, you'll provide high-quality urgent care to children and families, improving access to care, reducing ED demand, and delivering compassionate, patient-centred GP-lead treatment when it's needed most.

Your duties include:
• Provide assessments and treatments as required to patients presenting to the clinic, triaging cases and facilitating referrals as appropriate
• Provide education and follow up advice to patients and families
• Support patient flow and access to services including identification of UCC appropriate patients
• Participate in rostered hours, including extended hours, weekends and public holidays

Our ideal candidate:
• Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) or the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM)
• Current specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Demonstrated understanding of holistic, patient-centred care within the paediatric urgent care setting
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-focused approach
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively

All appointments are made subject to a satisfactory Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC), a Working with Children Check (WWCC), complete a Pre-Employment Declaration Form, evidence of legal rights to work in Australia, and evidence of vaccination.
Successful applicants will be required to provide evidence of immunisation assessment including Influenza within 12 weeks of commencement [B]. This is in accordance with the Victorian Minister of Health Mandatory Vaccination Orders and legislated requirement for influenza vaccination.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
