This part-time Medical Front Office Clerk position will have 20-30 hour/week schedule and is located in Arcadia, CA.

The schedule is as follows:

  • Weekdays from 8am-5pm (variable when needed)
  • Weekend rotation from 6:15am-3:15pm
  • Training will take place in Glendora, CA

Pay Range $21.00 per hour (this position is budgeted at a fixed rate)

In this vital role you will be the first point of contact with patients and visitors; you will serve as a liaison between patients and medical support staff. The ideal candidate will need to communicate well, be organized, and to take initiative to provide the best patient care possible.

What You Will Do:

  • Greets and checks in patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner.
  • Verifies necessary information and records in the medical record.
  • Maintains and updates current information on physicians and technologists schedules.
  • Answers telephone, screens calls, takes messages, and provides information.
  • Answers questions regarding patient appointments and testing.
  • Assembles patients’ charts for next day visit. Updates profiles on all patients.
  • Oversees waiting area, coordinates patient movement, reports problems or irregularities.

What You Will Bring:

  • High school graduation or GED.
  • One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office or imaging center setting.
  • Word processing and computer experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic medical terminology and computer skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of insurance both Commercial and Managed Care.
  • Basic understanding of ICD-10 and CPT codes.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology desirable. Ability to multi-task in a busy environment. Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Access to sensitive healthcare and business systems, including electronic health records (EHR), billing platforms, and operational databases.
  • Handling of data containing protected health information (PHI) and other confidential or proprietary information.

  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including clinical, billing, and administrative departments, requiring appropriate handling of sensitive operational information.

What Your Environment Will Be Like:

Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment with extensive contact with individuals and frequent interruptions. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. Must be able to lift 30 pounds. Must be able to see in the normal visual range with or without correction. It is necessary to view and type on computer screens for long periods. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
