The Medical Excellence Lead for Hong Kong Taiwan is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving medical operation excellence, enhancing patient solutions, and establishing best-in-class medical practices across TWHK markets. This position serves as the operational backbone of medical affairs, ensuring seamless execution of medical strategies while fostering innovation and continuous improvement in patient-centered healthcare delivery.

Main responsibilities:

Medical Operations Excellence
• Establish operational frameworks for medical activities including medical information, scientific communications, advisory boards, and investigator-initiated studies to drive consistent excellence across therapeutic areas
• Lead cross-functional medical project management, implementing governance structures that ensure strategic prioritization, resource optimization, and timely delivery of medical initiatives
• Drive standardization of medical processes and procedures across Taiwan and Hong Kong, establishing best practices that enhance efficiency, compliance, and quality outcomes
• Oversee medical budget planning and resource allocation, ensuring optimal utilization of resources to maximize medical impact

Medical Excellence & Scientific Leadership
• Champion medical excellence initiatives that elevate scientific rigor, evidence generation, and thought leadership positioning across the TWHK medical organization
• Establish frameworks for local evidence generation including real-world evidence studies, investigator-sponsored research, and publication strategies that support medical objectives

Lead medical capability building programs to enhance team competencies in scientific communication, medical writing, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement
• Drive medical innovation and digital transformation initiatives that modernize medical operations, enhance HCP engagement, and improve patient outcomes
• Implement quality assurance systems for medical activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, industry codes, and internal standards

Patient Solutions & Access
• Manage, monitor and track the quality of patient support and assistance programs
• Support the establishment of medical education frameworks that enhance healthcare provider knowledge and improve patient care standards
• Develop and oversee comprehensive patient support program (PSP) strategy addressing patient access barriers, affordability concerns, and treatment adherence across therapeutic areas
• Support patient assistance program (PAP) operations, ensuring eligible patients receive financial or co-payment support to access Sanofi therapies
• Establish patient support frameworks including patient education programs, treatment support services, and patient advocacy initiatives
• Collaborate with market access and commercial teams to develop integrated patient support strategies that enhance patient outcomes
• Ensure regulatory compliance of all patient support programs in accordance with Taiwan and Hong Kong regulations, industry codes, and Sanofi policies
• Drive patient insights generation to inform program design, identify unmet support needs, and optimize patient journey experiences
• Build partnerships with patient organizations, NGOs, and healthcare providers to enhance patient support program reach and effectiveness

Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership
• Serve as medical liaison with Global Medical Operations, Regional Medical Hub, and cross-functional teams to ensure strategic alignment and knowledge sharing
• Lead medical compliance governance ensuring all medical activities adhere to ethical standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices

Team Leadership & Development
• Establish team performance expectations and accountability frameworks aligned with regional medical objectives
• Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and patient-centricity within the medical team
• Lead team development initiatives including training programs, capability building, and cross-functional collaboration

Performance Management & Measurement

Establish KPIs and measurement frameworks for medical operations, tracking performance against strategic objectives and driving accountability
• Implement continuous improvement processes based on performance data, stakeholder feedback, and industry benchmarks
• Monitor team productivity and deliverable quality, ensuring consistent excellence across all medical functions


Ethics and Compliance
• At all times ensure consistency with voluntary and compulsory codes of conduct, appropriate legislation and compliance with internal SOPs.
• Promote awareness, understanding and alignment of activities to our compliance standards.
• Coordinate the development and review of medical affairs SOPs and guidelines as appropriate
• Ensure the Sanofi business is conducted fully meeting ethics and compliance requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Sanofi employee must understand of own roles and responsibilities in avoiding health risk (Health), preventing accidents (Safety) and environment protection (Environment). Involved in any such activities must comply with HSE policy.

About you

Education
• Medical, Pharmacy, or PhD Degree

Experience & Knowledge
• At least 5 years professional experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, demonstrated experience in medical operations, project management, medical excellence or patient programs management.
• 1-3 years in leadership roles with demonstrated experience in medical operations, project management, or medical excellence
• Strong project management skills with experience in cross-functional team leadership
• Deep understanding of regulatory environments in Taiwan and Hong Kong, particularly regarding patient support programs
• People leadership and team development capabilities
• Fluent Mandarin is required
