This is what you will do:

The Medical Excellence- and Project Manager is part of the Medical Affairs & Medical Operations team. This role is responsible for ensuring that strategy, processes, competencies, tools and quality standards enable Medical Affairs to work scientifically excellent, patient-centered, and compliantly.

You will play a key role in connecting scientific evidence generation with forward-looking innovation, helping to ensure that Medical Affairs continuously evolves its ways of working, its external collaborations and its contribution to improved patient care in rare diseases. In this role, you will combine medical and scientific expertise with project management, innovation scouting, cross-functional collaboration, and foster implementation of excellence.

You will work closely with Medical Disease Leads and their respective teams across all disease areas, as well as with internal and external stakeholders, to develop and implement tools supporting the operational execution and development of Medical Affairs teams to advance local initiatives and to bring relevant innovation opportunities into the organization in a practical, compliant and value-adding way.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading standardization and drive for excellence in medical affairs activities. This can include medical standard operating procedures, processes, working handbooks, playbooks, codes, guidelines, ways of working and training.
  • Overall management and budget oversight in close collaboration with Medical Leads to ensure project course and spending according to the plan
  • Partners with Medical Team for the preparation of audits and inspections, including proper follow up of actions and their implementation
  • Managing reports as well as metric dashboards to ensure tactical achievements and evaluate quality metrics that make operational improvements visible and measurable.
  • Evaluate and implement innovative tools, approaches and technologies that can strengthen Medical Affairs capabilities, improve operational excellence, enhance evidence generation, and contribute to better patient care.
  • Support identification, monitoring and assessing emerging trends in the pharmaceutical and healthcare environment, with a particular focus on AI, digital health, data-driven innovation and new medical engagement models, and help translating relevant developments into practical opportunities for Medical Affairs.
  • Manage and coordinate local Real-World-Evidence projects in close collaboration with internal cross-functional teams and external partners, including project planning, internal approvals, contracting, timelines, quality oversight, and project-related communication in alignment with ethical requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Support responsible medical teams with launch preparations including the use of internal tools

You will need to have:

  • University degree in life sciences (M.Sc. or equivalent)
  • 3+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
  • Strong understanding and experience in the management of real-world evidence projects, registries, observational studies and/or other non-interventional studies
  • Strong interest in innovation, digital health and AI, and motivation to apply new trends in a meaningful Medical Affairs context
  • Ability to work effectively in a complex cross-functional environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Good analytical skills, especially in relation to medical, scientific and technical information

We would prefer for you to have:

  • Good knowledge of the healthcare system and local pharmaceutical regulations, especially as relevant to non-interventional studies and Medical Affairs activities
  • Solid understanding and hands-on experience with innovation projects, AI, digital initiatives or implementation of new tools/processes in a medical, scientific or healthcare-related environment
  • Ability to motivate and influence others without direct authority
  • Pro-active, hands-on mindset being able to think out-of-the-box
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and cooperate with others
