Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Responsible for administering, directing, planning and coordinating all operations to ensure quality patient care and satisfaction.

Will be responsible for working as an MOA in the clinic as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNTIONS:

1. Answer phone calls

2. Schedule appointments

3. Patient Consults (patients asking for consults and consults sent by MD)

a. Skin care

b. Make up

c. Pre peel regimens

d. Acne

4. Procedures

a. Facials

- Regular

b. Microdermabrasion

c. Light therapy

d. Chemical Peel

- Alpha hydroxy acid (up to 30%)

- Beta hydroxy acid (up to 30%)

e. Transdermal Topical Infusion

5. Sell products

a. Skin care lines

b. Cosmetic lines

6. Oversees daily office operations and delegates authority as necessary.

7. Develops guidelines for prioritizing work activities, evaluating effectiveness, and

modifying activities as necessary.

8. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves work problems.

9. Assists supervisors to develop and implement short and long term work plans and objectives.

10. Assists supervisors in understanding/implementing clinic policies and procedures.

11. Oversees and approves office supply inventory, offices are opened and closed according to procedures.

12. Ensures that patients are treated courteously by office staff and that other visitors are screened and properly directed.

13. Ensures that requests for information are handled promptly and effectively.

14. Works with other administrative staff to ensure efforts are coordinated and high quality patient care is provided.

15. Participates in professional development activities.

16. Maintains strictest confidentiality.

17. Oversees keying of charges and posting of payments. Counsel patients on payments and payment.

18. Works with employees to resolve employee/work related issues.

Requirements

EDUCATION:

Graduate of an accredited school of Esthetics.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of five years progressive experience as Esthetician; preferably with two years of supervisory experience.

REQUIREMENTS:

Current state certification/licensure as required; current CPR certification; maintain continuing education requirements as necessary.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures and systems.
  2. Knowledge of clinic office procedures.
  3. Knowledge of computer systems and applications.
  4. Knowledge of clinic practice, medical terminology, and reimbursement policies.
  5. Knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and sentence structure to answer correspondence and prepare reports.
  6. Knowledge of current esthetic/skin care practices and protocols.
  7. Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures.
  8. Knowledge of business and supervision theories and methods.
  9. Skill in planning, organizing, delegating and supervising.
  10. Skill in evaluating the effectiveness of existing methods and procedures.
  11. Skill in appropriate assessment, examination and treatment techniques.
  12. Skill in dealing effectively with personnel development and issues.
  13. Skill in TQM, infection control, safety and confidentiality policies by effectively role modeling appropriate behavior.
  14. Ability to read, interpret and apply policies and procedures.
  15. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, in writing, or by phone.
  16. Ability to set priorities among multiple requests.
  17. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and public.
  18. Ability to react calmly and competently in the event of an emergency.

ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS

Combination of office and exam settings. Potential exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances and other conditions common to skin care

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:

Varied activities including sitting, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and stooping. Requires eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity. Occasional lifting/carrying items up to 50 pounds. Occasional stress from balancing supervisory and patient care responsibilities.
