Medical Dosimetrist - Full-time

Position Highlights:

Nebraska Medicine is now taking applications for a talented individual to join us as a Medical Dosimetrist. This role will be great for someone that has a passion for radiation and great customer service for our patients we serve. This specific position will work from the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center – Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE.

Medical Dosimetrist Description:

Generate radiation dose distributions and calculations in order to provide radiation treatment plans, in accordance with the radiation oncologists' prescription. Assist in simulation, brachytherapy and specialty procedures as directed and participates in the clinical and didactic instruction of students. In addition to performing advanced clinical dosimetry functions, this position provides leadership, mentorship, and oversight of the dosimetry team, facilitates departmental workflow, and contributes to quality improvement initiatives, technology advancements, and staff development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Graduate of an approved AMA program in medical dosimetry or radiation therapy technology program required.

  • Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) or registry eligible required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Clinical experience as a dosimetrist preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in radiation therapy technology, or health related field, preferred.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint preferred.

  • Medical dosimetry computer applications preferred.

  • ARRT Registered Radiation Therapist preferred.

  • Experience in Proton treatment planning preferred.

  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role highly desirable preferred.
