General Summary:
The Area Medical Manager (AMM)/(Medical District Manager) is responsible for driving excellence by providing effective communication, leadership, and direction to leverage the skills of Medical Branch, Administrative, Operating, and Sales associates within a designated Area to attain best in class safety standards, top line growth, EBITDA performance, operational excellence, maximum customer retention by maximizing an effortless customer experience. The AMM is responsible for the effective execution of plans and strategies designed to exceed customer expectations and delivering results based on established goals and objectives. The AMM has full Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility for all Medical branches/territory within their designated Area.

Responsibilities:
● Successfully leads the Medical sales team to execute the sales strategy to achieve top line growth goal results.
● Take direct responsibility and ownership for some key medical customer accounts where/when applicable.
● Conducts up to 80% day travel across the assigned Florida territory to manage branch operations and visit customer sites.
● Leverages personnel to properly manage branch assets to ensure Airgas’s speed to market attainment.
● Has ownership for the execution of Core Strategy I and II activities in the branches and throughout the District.
● Leverages personnel to ensure that inventory stock of gases and hard-goods are at proper fulfillment levels.
● Ensures that medical branch and field sales associates are adequately trained and focus on the details of customers’ needs and requirements.
● Instills accountability for SAP accuracy and proficiency across division associates.
● Optimizes profit margins through the results driven execution of effective plans and strategies that are communicated from both the Region and Division.
● Responsible for operational expenses in line with Gross Profit (GP) goals, the effortless customer experience and growth plans.
● Executes and achieves results on plans to maximize strategic pricing targets.
● Provides support for the transition of targeted customers to the Total Access (TA) sales program.
● Leads through effective collaboration and teamwork by fostering an environment focused on providing a heightened employee experience leading to inspired associates and high levels of retention.
● Effectively drives messaging throughout the Area to ensure that communication is consistent, transparent, effective and frequent –articulating the “why”.
● Takes ownership to ensure that the Area is executing on all safety and environmental policies and objectives at all Airgas facilities.
● Other projects/initiatives as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
● Four-year college degree from an accredited institution in Business, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Sales, Management, Engineering, or related field.
● Minimum of five (5) years of increasing responsibility in a business to business sales-related or sales operations position to include prior experience managing a team and a P&L or comparable experience within the distribution industry involving medical gases and supplies or similar industrial products.
● A track record of achieving profitable sales growth is required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
● A reputation for strong leadership skills and the capability of developing and managing a team of experienced sales professionals with a strong emphasis on customer experience excellence and customer-focused results is required.
● Versatility to thrive in a fast paced and ever changing medical market and business environment.
● Excellent motivational skills.
● Demonstrated critical thinking capabilities with the ability to analyze business and sales opportunities and to develop successful sales strategies that lead to the consistent acquisition of new business.
● Demonstrated knowledge of industry, business and accounting concepts including but not limited to Return on Investment (ROI), Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, balance sheets, interest and leasing calculations, margin responsibilities and building solid business cases.
● Tough minded, take charge change agent who challenges the status quo and acts with a sense of urgency.
● Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others and to create cross-functional alignment.
● Must possess excellent communication skills, especially in the development of action plans and to ensure accountability and follow through.
● Ability to make highly effective oral and written presentations and proposals to all levels of management.
● Working knowledge of SAP is preferred.
Work Environment:
● Up to 80% travel throughout the designated territory (mostly drivable).
● Minimal overnight travel.
● Must have reliable, appropriate transportation.
● Job requires visitation of various Airgas and medical customer sites, which have varying environments/conditions, layouts, and accessibility.
