
The Atlantic Mobile Health Dispatcher I is an integral part of the Emergency Medical Services Department supporting BLS Transport, MAV & Critical Care Operations.
The dispatcher is responsible for the intake and processing of all transport requests and scheduling transports and appointments to meet the patient and customers’ needs through superior communication and customer service skills.
The dispatcher will utilize multiple phone lines, six computer screens and wall monitors containing information ranging from Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems, billing systems, payment collection screens. Coordination with Dispatchers, Hospital Liaisons, Clients, Patients, Customer Service Coordinators, Social Workers and Hospital Staff in the region to assure safe operations and collaboration and the necessary logistical support for the mission.
The ideal candidate is committed to safety, detail oriented and one who can function well in a fast paced, dynamic
environment where finding solutions to complex logistical challenges is a must. World class customer service and communication skills are mandatory.
Principal Accountabilities:
Appropriatelybalancestheneedsofthecustomerandthecompanywhenmakingcriticaldecisions regarding transport.
Ensurescompliancewithvariousstate,federalandinsuranceregulationsrelatingtoambulancetransports when scheduling and managing transports.
ExpertlyusesCADDispatchsystemtoreviewtriprequests,appropriatelyscheduletransportstoassure timely response and vehicle/resource utilization and service.
Keepstriprequestsorganizedandprioritizestripsforappropriatesequencedispatchwhenemergencies develop
Performbasicdataentry;demonstrateabilitytolearnnewcomputerprogramsandperformsomeadvanced data entry when necessary.
Complieswithandenforcesallpoliciesand procedures.
Escalatesconcernsregardingquestionablematterstoappropriate management
OperatesallequipmentundertheRulesandRegulationsoftheFederalCommunicationsCommissionand the New Jersey State Department of Health. Office of Emergency Medical Services, as pertains to the function of a Mobile Healthcare Communications Center.
Other related duties as assigned
Required:
1. High school diploma/GED/ equivalent
Preferred:
1. Customer service and call taking/call center training courses preferred
2. 1+ years in similar role
