Job Description

Provides regional physician leadership for obstetric services across the Canyons Region, with primary accountability for advancing clinical quality and safety, evidence-based practice, provider development, and cost-effective growth. Partners across clinical, operational, and system leadership to deliver high-value, equitable, and patient-centered care aligned with Intermountain Health’s mission and Women’s Health strategy.

Essential Functions

Clinical Quality, Safety, and Best Practice Leadership

  • Lead regional safety and quality oversight for obstetric services across acute and ambulatory settings
  • Establish, implement, and sustain evidence-based clinical standards and best practices
  • Monitor key performance indicators and drive improvement across quality, safety, equity, and patient experience
  • Lead system and regional initiatives to reduce variation and improve outcomes

Strategic Growth and System Alignment

  • Develop and execute regional obstetric strategy aligned with system priorities, with emphasis on cost-effective growth and access
  • Identify and advance opportunities to optimize care delivery, resource utilization, and operational performance
  • Partner with system programs and service line leadership to align clinical strategy with enterprise initiatives

Provider Leadership and Education

  • Lead and support OB medical directors, hospitalist leadership, and physician teams across the region
  • Drive provider education and engagement initiatives to support clinical excellence and adoption of best practices
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, development, and retention of physician leaders
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and collaboration

Operational and System Partnership

  • Partner with acute and ambulatory leaders to optimize care across the perinatal continuum
  • Support implementation of care models, staffing strategies, and clinical operations
  • Serve as a key liaison between providers and system leadership
  • Participate in system governance, committees, and Women’s Health initiatives

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or DO; Board Certified in Obstetrics or related specialty
  • Eligible for licensure and credentialing within Intermountain Health
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within a healthcare delivery system
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and influence skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical staff or service line leadership experience
  • Training in quality improvement or improvement science
  • Experience in complex, integrated healthcare systems
  • Maternal Fetal Medicine training

Physical Requirements

  • Interact with others requiring employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information.
  • Operate computers, telephones, office equipment, and manipulate paper requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
  • See and read computer monitors and documents.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$7.25 - $999.99
