Medical Director (Small Animal Practice) – Peterborough, NH

A well-established veterinary practice is seeking an experienced Veterinary Medical Director to provide clinical leadership while continuing to practice medicine. This role is ideal for a veterinarian who enjoys mentoring others, maintaining high medical standards, and contributing to the continued development of a veterinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality medical, surgical, and preventive care
  • Establish and maintain clinical standards and best practices
  • Mentor and support associate veterinarians through coaching and case collaboration
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and supportive team culture
  • Partner with practice leadership on workflow, scheduling, and clinical initiatives
  • Support the recruitment and onboarding of veterinary team members
  • Identify opportunities to improve medical quality, client experience, and practice performance
  • Promote continuous learning and professional development
  • Support regulatory compliance and appropriate medical protocols

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree
  • Active veterinary license or eligibility for licensure
  • DEA registration or ability to obtain
  • Previous leadership or mentorship experience preferred
  • Strong communication and client education skills
  • Commitment to high-quality patient care and medical excellence
  • Ability to mentor and develop other veterinarians
