
What You Will Do:
*Provide clinical and technical oversight to the clinical section of the assigned laboratory including test development and modification.
*Directs, plans and coordinates clinical and technical aspects of the operation of the Clinical Lab section, ensuring effective operation of the lab and quality of testing services.
*Defines and implements clinical policy and practices in clinical laboratory setting.
*Establishes effective communication process between the hospital patient units and the Clinical Lab for the efficient transfer of information, both urgent and routine, and on the ordering, status and result of tests.
*Provide clinical consultation and collaboration with clinical colleagues on test interpretation and selection.
*Maintain quality assurance and patient safety programs within the clinical section.
*Maintain compliance with laboratory regulatory requirements.
*Provide education for pathology residents, medical students and laboratory staff.

Education Qualifications:
*Doctorate Degree in biological science or related field (Required)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (Required proficiency)
*Record of competence and success in technical and clinical aspects of clinical section and laboratory medicine (Required proficiency)
*Thorough knowledge in all areas of laboratory operations including quality control, safety and compliance regulations, regulatory and accreditation standards, and process improvement. (Required proficiency)
*Technical expertise with laboratory instrumentation and method validation (Required proficiency)
*Knowledge of laboratory information technology systems (Required proficiency)
Licenses and Certifications:
*Applicable certifying specialty board or eligible for such certification.
