Part-Time Medical Director in Locust Hill, VA

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Director to join our Locust Hill, VA team on a part-time basis. This leadership role offers an opportunity to provide clinical oversight and strategic guidance across post-acute and long-term care settings while retaining schedule flexibility and receiving strong administrative support.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and medical oversight for residents in post-acute and long-term care settings

  • Develop, implement, and monitor evidence-based clinical policies, protocols, and quality initiatives

  • Collaborate with facility leadership, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to optimize patient care and outcomes

  • Participate in interdisciplinary care planning meetings, case reviews, and clinical education

  • Assess and manage acute and chronic medical conditions; provide timely escalation and triage as required

  • Ensure accurate, timely documentation using Electronic Medical Records (EMR)

  • Mentor and support medical staff and advanced practice clinicians, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement

Qualifications and Required Skills

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school

  • Active, unrestricted Virginia medical license and current DEA registration

  • Board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a related specialty preferred

  • Experience in post-acute care, long-term care, geriatrics, or related settings preferred

  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience with excellent clinical judgement

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams

  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record systems
